Love is Powerful By Ashton V.

* A true statement *
Love is a very powerful thing; it sometimes even succeeds in the face of death.

He lay with yellow hair and closed eyes, and the book thief ran toward him and fell down. She dropped the black book. "Rudy." She sobbed, "Wake up . . ." She grabbed him by his shirt and gave him just the slightest disbelieving shake. "Wake up, Rudy," and now, as the sky went on heating and showering ask, Liesel was holding Rudy Steiner's shirt by the front. "Rudy, please." The tears grappled with her face. "Rudy, please, wake up, G*ddamn it, wake up, I love you. Come on, Rudy, come one, Jesse Owens, don't you know that I love you, wake up, wake up . . . ." But nothing cared. [1]
She shook him again. “YOU SAUKERL! Wake up! Please!” As Liesel said this he twitched; a little life. I, who has seen almost everything, stood in disbelief. He should be dead. She saw the movement, too. She leaned down and gently planted a gentle kiss on his lips.
“Please,” she whispered one last time.
This time Rudy Steiner opened his eyes.
“I told you you’d kiss me one day,” Rudy said weak and slow.
Liesel smiled a smile that she hadn’t smiled in years. She laughed and said, “Saukerl.” She moved so that Rudy’s head was on her lap. She sat there, with him.
* A noteworthy note *
Humans are odd creatures to me, how every care in the world disappears when they see a face they love.
The book thief looked up and I thought she stared at me, as if mocking me. I smiled, and walked through the street of Himmel. Maybe I fibbed a little throughout the story; maybe Rudy Steiner didn’t die. But he will, just not now. Actually, much, much later.
The Book Thief and Rudy Steiner were closer from that day on. They were ‘romantically involved’ as humans would say. One warm afternoon in June, was a great soccer match; between Rudy and The book thief.
Saumensch! I can’t believe you won! I had you that time!” The book thief yelled.
“How about a kiss, Saukerl?”
And for the first time, she didn’t deny him. It was a sweet kiss. A soft one. At that moment, I knew, Liesel Meminger, the Book thief, knew and Rudy Steiner, Jesse Owens, knew. They would be together.
* A Brief Afterward *
The Book Thief, and Rudy Steiner, were married.
With three sons and one daughter.
Their names:

Hansi, Jesse, Rosa and Werner. Sun100.jpg
